 Under what circumstance does the vortex flow meter need temperature and pressure compensation?


Vortex flow meter not only can measure liquid, but also can measure gas, it’s widely used. But some customers are still confused when need temperature and pressure compensation.
If measure liquid, it don’t need any compensation.
If measure saturated steam, it just compensate temperature or pressure is ok. Because temperate and pressure are one-to-one relationship, we can check the other one if we know any one of them.
If measure superheated steam, it need both of them. Flow volume should be converted to be mass flow. Since the density of superheated steam is related to temperature and pressure, and the temperature and pressure of superheated steam are variables, they must be compensated.
