In recent years, non-contact flow & level instrument is become more and more popular, we will discuss the non-contact flow & level instrument advantages and disadvantages.

I. Non-contact flow & level instrument measurement advantages:
1.1 Strong safety and reliability: Non-contact measurement of toxic and harmful, corrosive, pressurized, flammable, explosive, volatile, and leaky media does not use valves, connecting pipes, joints, no leakage points, and does not contact the liquid and gas in the tank, which is very safe. Even if the instrument is damaged or repaired, there is no possibility of leakage, poisoning or explosion.
1.2 Simple structure, small size, light weight, good portability, easy to install and maintain.
1.3 High durability, no mechanical moving parts in sensors and instruments, good sealing, isolated from the outside world, and will not wear or corrode.
1.4 The instrument does not need thermal insulation and heat tracing, which saves energy and has a high degree of on-site standardization.
1.5 The pressure, temperature, density, dielectric constant, viscosity and corrosiveness of the measured medium have little effect on it.
1.6 It can be used for remote measurement, and can also be used for the measurement of parameters such as displacement, speed, and vibration of rotating equipment. It can still be used normally when production is abnormal. 

II. Non-contact flow & level instrument measurement disadvantages:
2.1 It is still affected by environmental factors, such as the impact of ambient temperature on ultrasonic waves, the impact of bad weather on lasers, etc.
2.2 Since the sensing element of the non-contact instrument is not in contact with the measured medium, the intermediate medium and distance greatly affect the measurement accuracy. In most cases, the accuracy of the non-contact measurement technology is lower than that of the contact measurement technology.
2.3 The non-contact measurement technology uses a large number of high-precision optical and electronic components, and the price of the instrument is much higher than that of the contact measurement instrument, which is not conducive to popularization.  
2.4 The instrument maintenance personnel of the enterprise have little experience and can only perform simple maintenance.
